  1. 1977 - Upper Cumberland Orthopedic Surgery opens at 404 North Hickory Avenue in Cookeville.
  2. 1987 - Dr. Carl Hollmann joins Upper Cumberland Orthopedic Surgery.
  3. 1992 - Dr. James McKinney begins practicing orthopedic surgery in Cookeville.
  4. 1997 - Dr. J. Keith Nichols establishes his spine and sports practice in Nashville.
  5. 1997 - Dr. Joseph Jestus establishes Cumberland Spine & Neurosurgery at 145 West Fourth Street in Cookeville.
  6. 1999 - Julianne Buckner joins Cumberland Spine & Neurosurgery as a neurosurgical physician assistant (NS PA).
  7. 2000 - Dr. Leonardo Rodriguez-Cruz joins Cumberland Spine & Neurosurgery.
  8. 2000 - Dr. John Turnbull joins Upper Cumberland Orthopedic Surgery.
  9. 2002 - Dr. Leonardo Rodriguez-Cruz performs Tennessee's first percutaneous kyphoplasty for a tuboplasty case done for osteoporotic compression fractures.
  10. 2004 - Dr. Greg Roberts joins Upper Cumberland Orthopedic Surgery.
  11. 2004 - Dr. Joseph Jestus performs the area's first minimally invasive spine surgery.
  12. 2006 - Cumberland Spine & Neurosurgery implements an electronic health record system, doing away with their paper charts.
  13. 2009 - Matthew Finn joins Cumberland Spine & Neurosurgery as a neurosurgical physician assistant.
  14. 2010 - Dr. Philip Elizondo joins Upper Cumberland Orthopedic Surgery.
  15. 2010 - Dr. J. Keith Nichols establishes UCOS Spine & Sports Medicine in Cookeville.
  16. 2011 - Physicians from Cumberland Spine & Neurosurgery, Upper Cumberland Orthopedic Surgery and UCOS Spine & Sports Medicine meet to discuss creating a multispecialty spine and sports clinic.
  17. 2012 - Tier 1 Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Institute opens at 105 South Willow Avenue in Cookeville.
  18. 2012 - Julianne Buckner returns as a certified physician assistant (PA-C) to Tier 1 Neurosurgery.
