Dr. Leonardo R. Rodriguez-Cruz
Dr. L.R. Rodriguez-Cruz was born and raised in New York City. Most of his professional training has been within the Ivy League. His undergraduate degree in neurobiology is from Cornell University. He followed up with a medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He then completed his neurosurgical training at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Rodriguez-Cruz is board certified in the practice of neurological surgery.
After completing training, Dr. Rodriguez-Cruz served in the United States military. He was stationed at various hospitals around the world and had the responsibility of treating members from all branches of the service of varied ranks as well as members of the United States Congress. After his honorable discharge, he completed a national search and came to Cookeville because of the beautiful landscape and the quality of the people living here.
Over the years, Dr. Rodriguez-Cruz has concentrated in the treatment of adult spinal disorders of all etiologies. He retains an interest in malignancies of the central nervous system as well.
When not working, Dr. Rodriguez-Cruz is an avid hunter and runner who has developed a newfound interest in hobby farming. However, most of his free time is devoted to his wife and the three young men they are raising.
